About the role#
As a Machine Learning Intern on the Software Validation team, you will help verify the behavior of autonomous vehicles. You will design validation strategies and build tools to evaluate AI systems and ADAS features. Your work will directly support software releases and help define performance requirements for autonomous systems.
What you'll do#
- Improve AI and machine learning validation frameworks for autonomous vehicle software.
- Create automated testing pipelines for both simulated and real-world driving scenarios.
- Use machine learning to refine simulated performance metrics.
- Develop tools that use statistical methods to identify edge cases and failure modes.
- Analyze large driving datasets to find gaps in validation and increase overall testing coverage.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a PhD program for Computer Science, Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and August 2028.
- Coding proficiency in Python, SQL, or C/C++.
- Experience in areas such as deep learning, reinforcement learning, computer vision, data mining, or simulation.
- A history of software engineering through work experience, internships, coding competitions, or academic papers.
- Familiarity with systems software, algorithms, or big data tools like Hadoop, Hbase, or Mapreduce.
- A record of achievement through patents, fellowships, grants, or first-authored conference publications.
- An intent to return to your degree program after the internship.
