About the role#
This is an 8-month Mechanical Engineering Co-op position for the Winter 2027 term. You will join our mechanical engineering team in Calgary to work on various projects under the supervision of senior staff. This is a paid, full-time role that operates on a hybrid schedule.
What you'll do#
- Prepare mechanical designs and drawings for electronic enclosures and other systems.
- Support the full design life cycle from initial concept to production release.
- Perform thermal, stress, and dynamic analysis on equipment designs.
- Optimize designs to improve manufacturability, weight, and cost.
- Design test fixtures and perform engineering tests, including vibration, shock, and thermal cycling.
- Develop and execute qualification test plans, analyze data, and write reports.
- Collaborate with PCB designers, hardware engineers, and manufacturing teams.
- Participate in process improvement activities to enhance design quality and efficiency.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Engineering or a related scientific discipline at a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance.
- Eligibility to work in Canada.
- Familiarity with UGS NX or comparable CAD software.
- Experience or familiarity with AI/ML models.
- Knowledge of finite element analysis for thermal, structural, and dynamic applications.
- Experience designing sheet metal, machined, and welded parts.
- Understanding of design requirements for vibration, shock, cooling, and harsh or corrosive environments.

- Compensation: $24.92 - $33.23 per hour, with eligibility for quarterly pay increases.
