About the role#
As a Software Engineering Intern, you will join our team to solve complex technical problems that influence the digital asset space. You will work on projects ranging from securing customer funds to improving API response times. We maintain a strong culture of code reviews and security, focusing on shipping high-quality code. You will have the opportunity to work on frontend or backend tasks depending on your strengths.
What you'll do#
- Drive the development of new products and features on the Gemini platform.
- Collaborate with senior engineers who provide mentorship on design, testing, and scalability.
- Contribute technical ideas during planning and design discussions.
- Review and critique code with a focus on correctness, performance, and security.
- Enhance the reliability and maintainability of our systems through refactoring.
- Support production systems by diagnosing and resolving bugs or alerts.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related degree program.
- Interest in blockchain, digital assets, and the Web3 industry.
- Understanding of core software engineering and coding concepts.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to take initiative on projects.

- This is a full-time, paid internship for the Winter 2027 term (January to April).
- The role is based in New York, New York.
- We follow a hybrid work model requiring 3 days per week in the office.
