About the role#
GEI Consultants is looking for an Engineer Intern to join our team in Marquette or Houghton, Michigan. You will support a range of planning, design, analysis, and construction projects. Your specific tasks will depend on your level of experience.
What you'll do#
- Prepare design drawings in Civil 3D under the guidance of senior staff.
- Develop technical specifications, bid documents, and project schedules.
- Assist with engineering calculations and reporting.
- Help develop project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Provide construction oversight in the field.
- Travel to project sites and other offices as needed, including overnight trips.
What you'll need#
- Working toward a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering is preferred.
- 0-3 years of professional experience.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to travel for field assignments as necessary.
