About the role#
This is a paid, full-time summer internship running from mid-May to mid-August 2027. You will join our transportation team in Denver to gain hands-on experience by supporting real client projects. You will work under the guidance of experienced professionals who provide mentorship throughout the program.
What you'll do#
- Perform traffic analysis and design tasks including report writing, plans preparation, and calculations.
- Assist with quantity and cost estimates while helping to prepare project specifications.
- Run traffic analysis models and use CAD design software under supervision.
- Check drawings, reports, and calculations for accuracy.
- Provide general support for multifaceted transportation projects.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ABET-accredited undergraduate or graduate Civil Engineering program with a focus on transportation.
- A basic understanding of traffic engineering principles.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or MicroStation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated interest in the field through previous internships, coursework, or work experience.
- Problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills.
- Willingness to learn from and communicate with our team.
- Ability to obtain federal security clearance.
- Experience with Synchro, SimTraffic, HCS, or VISSIM is preferred.
- Familiarity with GIS software like ArcGIS Pro or qGIS is a plus.

- Compensation: $21.00 to $28.00 per hour, depending on experience.
