About the role#
GAI Consultants is looking for an electrical engineering student to join our Power Delivery team. You will assist engineers and project managers with daily project tasks and gain practical experience in Power Delivery Engineering. This is a full-time, temporary position based in our Homestead office. You will work under the direction of lead engineers to complete tasks and may occasionally travel to local project sites.
What you'll do#
- Assist with day-to-day project tasks to support successful delivery.
- Prepare specification packages, physical drawings, and wiring drawings.
- Design and analyze substation drawings using AutoCAD.
- Perform electrical clearance checks and calculations.
- Coordinate and develop client proposals and estimates.
- Apply engineering principles to help design Power Delivery projects.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an electrical engineering program at a Junior or Senior level.
- Pursuit of a Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Close attention to detail.
- Experience with drafting programs like AutoCAD or Revit is preferred.
- Willingness to learn industry-specific software.

- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Duration: 3 months (rolling term).
