About the role#
GAI Consultants, Inc. is looking for a Distribution Line Intern to join our Power Delivery Team. You will work with engineers and project managers to assist with the design of power delivery projects. This is a temporary, three-month position based in our Pittsburgh office.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers and project managers with daily project tasks.
- Prepare specification packages and distribution line drawings.
- Analyze existing and proposed structures against client codes, standards, and specifications.
- Perform electrical clearance checks and calculations.
- Coordinate and develop permits for railroads, roadways, and environmental crossings.
- Apply engineering principles to support power delivery project designs.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited bachelor's degree program in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field.
- Completed coursework in Statics, Material Science, and Structural Analysis.
- Strong technical, communication, and computer skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A team-focused mindset and a willingness to learn industry-specific software.

- This role is located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
- This is an on-site, full-time, paid internship.
- No prior experience is required.
