The Tax Intern will support the Frontier Airlines tax team with direct and indirect tax compliance obligations. This role provides exposure to the full tax cycle, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings, as well as hands-on experience through project work and professional training.
What you'll do#
- Compile data and information for various tax returns, including income, property, excise, fuel, and sales/use taxes.
- Prepare workpapers for sales and use, excise, and fuel tax returns.
- Assist with federal and state audit information requests.
- Support monthly journal entry and tax account reconciliation processes.
- Process tax returns and payments while reconciling tax notices against existing records.
- Assist with financial statement requirements and maintain the tax department calendar.
- Conduct tax research projects and perform administrative duties as assigned by management.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate student (sophomore level or above) pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or a graduate student pursuing a Master’s degree in Taxation or Business Administration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Prior work experience in accounting or tax is preferred but not required.
