2026 Fall Intern - Aviation Safety

About the role#

The Aviation Safety internship provides students with direct exposure to the operations of an airline Safety Department. Interns work closely with departmental management to support regulatory compliance, safety management systems, and operational safety programs. This is a full-time, paid internship based in Denver, Colorado, running from September 9, 2026, to December 11, 2026.

What you'll do#

• Assist the Sr. Manager of Operational Safety Programs with Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) and Flight Operations Quality Assurance (FOQA) tasks.
• Support the Sr. Manager of Safety Management Systems (SMS) and Internal Evaluation Program in identifying non-conformance with regulations or company policy.
• Help the Manager of Regulatory Compliance gather information for FAA requests.
• Assist the Manager of Occupational and Environmental Compliance in researching data regarding OSHA, EPA, DOT, and Hazardous Materials regulations.
• Receive, compile, and analyze aviation safety reports.
• Prepare and write reports, documents, spreadsheets, and correspondence.
• Assist with internal and external IOSA audits and liaise with IATA auditors.
• Disseminate safety promotional materials and compile departmental distributions.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a full-time student in a bachelor’s degree program at an accredited four-year institution.
• Standing as a Junior or Senior with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Broad general aviation education.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Location & details#

• Location: Denver, Colorado (On-site).
• Term: Fall 2026 (September 9 – December 11).
• Work Environment: Primarily a standard office setting with very occasional work in hangars, on the tarmac, or outdoors. Occasional weekend work may be required.
