2026 Fall - Intern, Internal Audit

About the role#

The Internal Audit Intern will work alongside experienced audit professionals to gain hands-on experience with financial, operational, and internal control compliance assignments. This full-time internship is based in Denver, Colorado, for the Fall 2026 term.

What you'll do#

• Prepare documentation to support the company’s internal control environment.
• Evaluate and assess the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls and document the results.
• Identify and discuss audit findings with the internal team, documenting reportable issues and associated risk exposure.
• Support management in maintaining efficient internal controls, including working with process owners to remediate findings.
• Build and maintain relationships with business partners and key stakeholders.
• Participate in company initiatives, such as process audits and compliance projects.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a post-secondary educational institution with at least two years of completed coursework.
• Major in Accounting or a related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills.
• Ability to work full-time for the 4-month duration of the internship.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple assignments, and maintain confidentiality.
• A basic understanding of financial reporting concepts or the audit process is preferred.
