About the role#
The Technical Operations internship at FOX News Media provides students with hands-on experience in a broadcast environment. You will work alongside professionals on real-world projects, gaining insight into how news networks function behind the scenes. This program is designed for students who want to build practical skills in television production and technical systems.
What you'll do#
- Assist with studio setup and various studio-based roles.
- Gain exposure to Control Room and Studio Operations.
- Learn about transmission, lighting, and editing workflows.
- Operate prompter systems and associated software.
- Participate in professional development activities, networking events, and master classes.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an accredited college or university as a sophomore or higher, pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree.
- A strong academic record.
- Ability to work well on teams and maintain a professional demeanor.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive, self-starter attitude with high attention to detail.
- Knowledge of the news and media industry, including current events and business news.
- Relevant technical knowledge or experience with software such as Adobe Premiere, Adobe Audition, iNews, Avid, FinalCut Pro, or Dalet is a plus.
Location & details#
- This internship is based on-site in New York, New York.
- You must have your own housing and transportation.
- The program is paid at $20.00 per hour.
- You must be available for the full duration of the Summer 2027 program.
- Preferred majors include Communications, Media Studies, Computer Engineering, and Electrical Engineering.
