About the role#
The FOX News Media Internship Program at FOX Weather offers students practical experience within a major media organization. Participants engage in real-world projects to build professional skills. This is a paid, on-site program based in New York.
What you'll do#
Interns support various departments including Digital, Audience Development, Newsgathering, Programming, and Weather Presentation. Responsibilities include:
- Pitch, research, organize, and write stories for publication.
- Assist with weather and research-related projects.
- Brainstorm and pitch ideas for social media platforms.
- Monitor competitors to identify new opportunities.
- Support the daily workflow of the Newsgathering Desk.
- Source and produce live content.
- Support show teams with streaming content development and production.
- Pitch graphic ideas and conduct research for weather stories.
- Collaborate with meteorologists to produce weather content.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program.
- Current class standing of sophomore or above.
- Strong academic record.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of the company and the media industry.
- Ability to work the full duration of the program.
- Access to your own housing and transportation.
