    About the role#

    The R&D Intern position at Foster Corporation provides a practical learning experience for students pursuing technical degrees. You will work under the supervision of a mentor to assist with projects related to process improvement, product testing, data analysis, and technical documentation. This role offers exposure to manufacturing processes, quality systems, and research initiatives to help you build professional competencies.

    What you'll do#

    • Support technical projects involving process optimization, testing, or data collection.
    • Conduct laboratory or production floor work under supervision while following safety protocols.
    • Assist engineers with data entry, equipment setup, sampling, and experimental trials.
    • Collect and analyze operational or experimental data.
    • Document results, observations, and technical reports.
    • Participate in problem-solving sessions and continuous improvement efforts.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Quality, and Operations.
    • Prepare presentations or summaries of technical findings.
    • Maintain a safe and organized work environment.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or Materials Science Engineering.
    • Strong academic performance in technical coursework.
    • Previous internship, co-op, or laboratory experience is preferred.
    • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, product development, or testing methods.
    • Ability to apply analytical and technical thinking.
    • Strong data analysis and interpretation skills.
    • Technical curiosity and a willingness to learn new tools and systems.
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
    • Team-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal collaboration abilities.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
    • Detail-oriented approach with the ability to follow procedures and safety guidelines.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
