About the role#
The Manufacturing Engineering Intern position provides a practical learning experience for students pursuing degrees in engineering or technical disciplines. Working under the supervision of a mentor, you will assist with projects related to process improvement, product testing, data analysis, and technical documentation. This role offers exposure to manufacturing processes, quality systems, and research initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Support technical projects involving process optimization, testing, or data collection.
- Conduct laboratory or production floor work under supervision while following all safety protocols.
- Assist engineers with data entry, equipment setup, sampling, and experimental trials.
- Collect and analyze operational or experimental data to support process improvement.
- Document results, observations, and technical reports.
- Participate in problem-solving sessions and continuous improvement efforts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Quality, and Operations.
- Prepare presentations or summaries of technical findings for internal review.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Strong academic performance in technical coursework.
- Previous internship, co-op, or laboratory experience is preferred.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, product development, or testing methods.
- Strong data analysis and interpretation skills.
- Technical curiosity and a willingness to learn new tools and systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Detail-oriented approach with the ability to follow procedures and safety guidelines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
