About the role#
As a Tax Intern at Forvis Mazars, you will gain experience in public accounting by working on client engagements similar to those assigned to entry-level associates. You will work directly with senior staff and management, gaining exposure to various industries while developing your technical skills. This position is part-time and based in Greenville, North Carolina.
What you'll do#
- Reconcile account differences by working with client personnel.
- Analyze financial data.
- Prepare tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities.
- Calculate tax extension or estimate payments.
- Participate in client meetings alongside firm partners and managers.
What you'll need#
- Working toward CPA Exam eligibility.
- Satisfactory academic performance in accounting coursework with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Solid technical accounting knowledge.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with computer systems.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
- Strong time management skills and close attention to detail.
- A problem-solving attitude and a willingness to take initiative.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Reliable transportation for travel to the office and off-site meetings.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
