About the role#
Fort Wayne Metals is hiring for the Northeast Indiana FAME program. This two-year initiative combines hands-on technical training with coursework at Ivy Tech Community College. You will spend two days a week in class and three days a week working on-site at our facility. The program prepares you for a career as an Advanced Manufacturing Technician.
What you'll do#
- Assist with equipment repairs and conduct preventative maintenance.
- Attend classes and maintain progress toward an Associate Degree.
- Lead safety meetings and toolbox talks.
- Help ensure equipment is maintained to support quality product production.
- Learn the duties of a Maintenance Technician and follow environmental protocols.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma obtained by June 2027.
- Demonstrated mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Reliable transportation.
- A strong work ethic and a desire to learn.
