About the role#
The FAME Internship at Fort Wayne Metals is a two-year program designed to prepare students for careers as Advanced Manufacturing Technicians. You will attend classes at Ivy Tech Community College two days a week and work on-site at our facility three days a week. This role combines hands-on technical training with coursework toward an Associate’s Degree.
What you'll do#
- Assist with equipment repair and conduct preventative maintenance.
- Follow all safety principles, practices, and environmental protocols.
- Support the production of quality products by maintaining equipment.
- Attend classes and maintain progress toward your Associate’s Degree.
- Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks.
What you'll need#
- You must obtain a high school diploma by June 2027.
- Demonstrated mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Reliable transportation to the work site.
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a desire to learn.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
Location & details#
- This position is located in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
- Work is performed on-site.
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- You must be able to access all areas of operation, including second floors, and stand or sit for long periods.
