About the role#
The Disability Resource Center at Florida International University is hiring a Student Office Assistant to support daily front desk operations. This role involves working closely with professional staff across multiple locations to assist with office tasks and the test administration process. This is a paid position at $15.00 per hour, with hours that vary based on your class schedule and department needs.
What you'll do#
- Serve as part of the front desk operations team to provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and other university stakeholders.
- Triage incoming phone calls and route them to the appropriate person or area.
- Coordinate accommodation services, including sending letters to professors.
- Handle administrative tasks such as scanning and shredding documents.
- Deliver exams to the appropriate departments and professors.
- Provide general support for daily operations and assist with opening or closing the office as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at FIU with at least six credit hours.
- A Federal Work Study award as part of your Financial Aid package.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive student information.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to build pleasant working relationships.
- Capacity to follow directions and work independently when required.
