About the role#
The School of Environment, Arts and Society at the Biscayne Bay Campus is looking for a Student Education Outreach Program Assistant. This is a temporary, part-time position that supports various K-12 educational initiatives and daily office operations. The role requires on-site work and involves collaboration with a team of professionals.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the development and delivery of STEM-based K-12 education and outreach programs.
- Plan and prepare presentations and activities for classrooms, student organizations, and K-12 camps.
- Help with on-campus environmental projects, including the living lab and touch tank.
- Support both on-campus and community-based programs.
- Attend team planning and creative sessions.
- Assist with content creation for digital platforms.
- Provide administrative support to the office manager and directors.
- Work on additional projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at FIU.
- Minimum of six credits for undergraduate students or three credits for graduate students during the Fall and Spring semesters.
- You must not have graduated.
- Ability to work in a team setting and take direction.
- Capacity to work independently when needed.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of PC operations and specialized software.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
- Completion of FIU Service Excellence training, either prior to starting or within the first 30 days of employment.

- Location: Biscayne Bay Campus, Miami, Florida.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Pay: $15.00 per hour.
- Schedule: Hours vary based on class schedule and departmental needs.
