About the role#
The Social Media Student Assistant supports the marketing team with content creation, campaign execution, and platform management. This role helps maintain the university digital presence through creative production and data analysis. The position requires 20 hours of work per week.
What you'll do#
- Assist in developing and producing content across social platforms.
- Contribute to campaign ideation and creative briefs.
- Support brainstorming sessions and social media calendar planning.
- Assist with video production and photography concepts.
- Edit photo and video content for social use.
- Support on-site shoots, events, and brand activation.
- Draft and refine social media copy.
- Design visual content.
- Monitor community engagement across platforms.
- Track and report on key social media metrics.
- Conduct competitive analysis across peer institutions.
- Monitor industry trends and maintain a library of content ideas.
- Contribute to weekly and monthly insights reporting.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an FIU student.
- Minimum of six credits as an Undergraduate or three credits as a Graduate student during Fall and Spring semesters.
- Ability to work in a team setting.
- Intermediate level of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of PC operations and specialized software.
- Ability to take direction and work independently.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Location & details#
- Location: Modesto A. Maidique Campus, Miami, Florida.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Pay: $14.00 to $15.00 per hour.
- Status: Part-time, temporary appointment.
