About the role#
This is a paid, part-time internship for Winter 2027 based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. You will work on-site to gain hands-on experience in legal affairs, policy development, and risk assessment while supporting the legal team at Family & Children's Services.
What you'll do#
- Meet with the Associate General Counsel for project briefs and research assignments.
- Partner with the Privacy Officer on compliance and privacy projects.
- Research legal matters and write internal memos.
- Manage Protected Health Information incident reports and conduct fact-finding to assess potential breaches.
- Author breach risk assessments and present your findings to the review committee.
- Analyze and revise policies to ensure they meet state and federal regulations.
- Work with program staff to draft new policies and organize documentation.
- Help the legal team draft, negotiate, and finalize contracts and lease agreements.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Juris Doctor program at an accredited law school, with at least one year of study completed.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and organizational ability.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A valid driver license, a satisfactory driving record, and proof of automobile insurance.
- Ability to use your personal vehicle to travel to various office locations.
