About the role#
The Pharmacy Intern assists the pharmacist with medication distribution and pharmacy operations. You will support the team in dispensing medications and ensuring regulatory compliance. This is a part-time, remote position with a rolling start date.
What you'll do#
- Perform Drug Utilization Reviews (DURs) on patient profiles to identify and resolve drug-related problems.
- Suggest alternative therapies when appropriate.
- Coordinate with doctors offices and pharmacies to handle new prescriptions and transfers.
- Educate medical staff and patients on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage.
- Work with other health care professionals to evaluate the quality and effectiveness of drug regimens.
- Manage procedures for packaging and labeling pharmaceuticals to ensure security, quality, and proper disposal.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Doctorate in Pharmacy (PharmD) program at an ACPE institution.
- An active Pharmacy Intern license in the state of Ohio.
- Ability to work well in a team and manage multiple tasks at once.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
- A focus on problem solving and a genuine interest in helping people.
