About the role#
We are looking for Student Servers to join our dining team at Ashby Ponds. This role provides an opportunity to gain hospitality experience while building professional skills. You will learn the operations of our dining rooms, develop confidence, and have access to growth opportunities within our team. We offer scholarship opportunities for those who qualify to help with college or trade school costs.
What you'll do#
- Greet residents and guests with enthusiasm.
- Record and input food and beverage orders into our POS system.
- Describe menu items and daily specials, answer questions, and provide recommendations.
- Deliver food promptly and ensure guest satisfaction.
- Perform various tasks including serving, bussing, running food, plating meals, and assisting with catering or utility duties.
- Maintain a sense of urgency while multi-tasking to provide high-quality service.
What you'll need#
- You must be a current high school student and at least 16 years of age.
- A positive, team-oriented attitude and a strong work ethic.
- Good communication skills and a friendly, energetic demeanor.
- Ability to stand for long periods, carry trays, and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Previous serving experience is preferred, but we provide training for all new hires.
Location & details#
- Location: Ashburn, Virginia.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: This is a part-time role. We require availability for three shifts per week, including weekdays and weekends. Shifts typically run from 4:45 pm to 8:45 pm.
- Compensation: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour, based on experience.
