About the role#
The Pharmacy Intern supports the Pharmacy Manager and pharmacists in the daily operations of the Equitas Health Pharmacy. This role focuses on patient recruitment and retention, particularly for patients of the Equitas Health Medical Center and 340B contracted providers. You will work under the direction of a supervising pharmacist to deliver pharmaceutical care while maintaining compliance with state and federal laws.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with medical center providers and staff to optimize health outcomes for clinic patients.
- Consult with patients to ensure they understand their therapeutic regimens and medication administration.
- Deliver specialized pharmaceutical services, including adherence programs, disease management, and immunizations, as permitted by law.
- Work with the pharmacy team to build clinical services that improve patient outcomes and increase referrals.
- Assist patients with access to prescribed medications through patient assistance services.
- Market pharmacy clinical services to medical offices and patients within the service area.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited Pharmacy program.
- A current Ohio pharmacy intern license in good standing.
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and proof of auto insurance.
