The Pharmacy Intern assists the Pharmacy Manager and pharmacists with daily operations at Equitas Health. This role focuses on patient recruitment and retention, particularly for patients of the Equitas Health Medical Center and 340B contracted providers. Interns work under the direction of a supervising pharmacist to ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory pharmacy requirements while providing pharmaceutical information to medical providers.
What you'll do#
- Provide customer service to patients, providers, community members, and referral sources.
- Collaborate with medical center staff to optimize health outcomes for clinic patients.
- Consult with patients regarding therapeutic regimens, administration, side effects, and allergic precautions under pharmacist supervision.
- Work with the pharmacy team to develop clinical services that increase patient health outcomes and referrals.
- Assist with medication adherence programs, specialty disease management, and immunization services as permitted by law.
- Coordinate with case managers and behavioral health therapists to support patient medication adherence.
- Market pharmacy clinical services to medical offices and patients within the service area.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager or Director of Pharmacy Services.
What you'll need#
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in an accredited Pharmacy program.
- Ohio pharmacy intern license in good standing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of the health and social service needs of persons with HIV/AIDS.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
- Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance.
