About the role#
We are looking for a Level Design Intern to join our Design team working on Fortnite. You will use your design tools and sense of scale to improve the visual quality of the game and create new experiences for players. You will join a cross-discipline content team focused on developing levels that expand the Fortnite universe.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with level designers and environment artists to understand what makes successful Fortnite landmarks and points of interest.
- Use the Unreal Engine and modular kits to design visually appealing locations that follow gameplay rules.
- Assist other designers by improving existing landmarks and points of interest.
- Attend playtests, provide feedback, and find practical solutions to design problems.
What you'll need#
- Experience with Unreal Engine.
- Direct involvement with prop placement, lighting, mood, atmosphere, and design markup.
- A strong interest in Battle Royale and multiplayer games, including an understanding of what makes them work.
- A passion for games with a wide range of experiences.
- Ability to learn quickly, follow guidance, and complete assigned tasks within expected timelines.
- Willingness to learn and grow through challenges, including being open to feedback.
- Clear and proactive communication skills when working with your immediate team.
