Financial Strategy Intern

About the role#

As a Financial Strategy Intern, you will work with the Head of Government Programs & Finance on projects that directly impact how the company differentiates itself, secures customers, and makes strategic decisions. You will contribute to the business infrastructure of a space networking company, working on real proposals and commercial efforts. Your specific project will be matched to your background and interests, ensuring both a meaningful contribution to the company and a strong learning opportunity.

What you'll do#

• Build financial strategy to drive business growth.
• Conduct market mapping and competitive analysis to identify target customer segments, adjacent markets, and strategic partnership opportunities.
• Develop or refine financial models to support venture capital fundraising, including unit economics, revenue projections, scenario analysis, and cap table modeling.
• Prepare and iterate on pitch deck materials and investor-facing documentation.
• Manage logistics for fundraising processes, including data room organization, investor outreach tracking, and meeting preparation.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing or recently completed an undergraduate or master's degree in business, finance, engineering, public policy, international relations, or a related field.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to build financial models, work with data, and structure ambiguous problems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write persuasively under deadline pressure.
• Ability to work independently on a scoped project with mentorship and regular check-ins.
• Adaptability and interest in working at a fast-paced startup where priorities shift quickly.

Location & details#

• Locations: Oakland, California or El Segundo, California.
• Work Modality: Hybrid (on-site at least 3 days per week).
• Term: Rolling.
• Compensation: Paid position at an annual rate of $70,400, prorated for the duration of the internship.
• Employment Status: Full-time.
