About the role#
The Enovis Surgical R&D Co-Op is a full-time, one-year program based in Austin, Texas. You will join our new product development team, working alongside engineers and managers on projects from initial proposal to final release. This role requires a 40-hour work week commitment for the duration of the year.
What you'll do#
- Identify surgeon requirements and product characteristics.
- Assist Product Development Engineers with product designs and documentation.
- Create 3D models and detail engineering drawings.
- Manage project plans and report on progress to management.
- Maintain Design History Files and Design Dossiers.
- Coordinate with internal shops or vendors for prototype development, including 3D printed models and metal prototypes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Manufacturing Engineering, Purchasing, and Regulatory.
- Participate in surgeon symposia, focus groups, and surgical laboratory demonstrations.
- Maintain existing product lines and write Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
- Schedule and lead product team meetings.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least two years of an undergraduate engineering degree.
- Current pursuit of a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering with a mechanical track emphasis.
- Minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
- A deep interest in medical devices or orthopedics.
