About the role#
We are looking for a Prototype and Test Engineering intern to help bring a new electromechanical product to market. You will join a small team and work across multiple parts of the system. You will build and deploy prototypes to users, run critical tests, and support failure analysis in hardware-software integrated systems.
What you'll do#
- Build and test complex electromechanical systems, including sensors, pumps, and electronics.
- Collaborate with the product team to deploy systems to real users.
- Review sensor data and field feedback to identify the root cause of issues.
- Reproduce and characterize failure cases on the bench to confirm root causes and validate corrective actions.
- Track and report your troubleshooting findings to the engineering and product teams.
What you'll need#
- A background in Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering with an ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
- Experience with hands-on prototyping of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Proficiency with lab and diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and command-line utilities.
- A BS degree or expected BS in engineering or an equivalent field.
- The ability to occasionally lift or push up to 50 lbs.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship based in San Francisco, California.
- The role requires being on-site 5 days per week.
- The term is for Fall 2026.
