About the role#
The Echelon Fellowship is a program for college students and recent graduates interested in market research. Fellows work with partners and analysts to uncover data, synthesize research, and write reports for clients and subscribers. You will help answer questions regarding politics, media, and marketing while gaining experience in a professional environment.
What you'll do#
- Uncover and mine new data sources.
- Integrate multiple data sets to provide real-time situational awareness.
- Analyze survey results and prepare findings for internal teams and clients.
- Write research reports for our subscriber base.
- Work with our technology stack to automate data collection.
- Perform query and analysis work within our data warehouse.
- Transform messy data into actionable insights.
What you'll need#
- Academic background in Statistics, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
- Experience conducting original research using quantitative or qualitative techniques.
- Strong academic record.
- Interest in the reasons behind human behavior.
- Ability to follow news and current affairs.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Expert-level Excel skills.
- Proficiency in statistical modeling software like R or SPSS is preferred.
- Experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Access, or graph databases is preferred.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau, D3.js, or CartoDB is preferred.
- Interest in technology, including engineering, scalability, or database administration.

- Location: Alexandria, Virginia.
- Modality: Hybrid (on-site 2-3 times per week).
- Term: Winter 2027.
- Status: Full-time paid fellowship.
