About the role#
This co-op position is based on-site at Eastman Business Park in Rochester, New York. You will work within the Industrial Films and Chemicals Division to support daily manufacturing operations and engineering design projects. The role is full-time, Monday through Friday, and is available for the Fall 2026 or Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Support controls projects, including troubleshooting and obsolescence upgrades.
- Upgrade multiple obsolete variable frequency drives.
- Create release documents, including wiring diagrams and drive parameters.
- Assist with installation and commissioning tasks.
- Participate in projects focused on process improvements, equipment reliability, and automation.
- Collaborate with engineers and skilled trades personnel on multi-generational equipment and systems.
- Provide technical support for operations and maintenance activities.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program for Electrical, Automation, Controls, or Mechatronics Engineering, preferably having completed your sophomore year.
- Familiarity with Allen Bradley VFDs.
- Familiarity with Allen Bradley PLCs and ladder logic is a plus.
- Interest in automation, mechatronics, and process control systems.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and motivation to learn.
