About the role#
Easterseals Iowa offers advanced clinical practicum and internship placements within our Brain Health Department. This role is for MSW and Mental Health Counseling students who want intensive training in behavioral health. You will work with experienced clinicians in office and community settings. Placements typically span two semesters and range from 600 to 800 hours based on your academic requirements.
What you'll do#
- Provide individual, family, and group therapy under supervision.
- Conduct behavioral health assessments and treatment planning.
- Participate in crisis assessments and intervention.
- Support Multisystemic Therapy interventions.
- Facilitate psychoeducational and therapeutic groups.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment teams.
- Develop competence in community-based clinical practice.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited MSW or Mental Health Counseling program.
- Eligibility for an advanced, specialist, or clinical placement through your academic program.
- Interest in behavioral health and clinical practice.
- Strong communication, professionalism, and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to provide services in community settings when appropriate.
