About the role#
This position involves working with professors and other students to provide care for animals housed at East Stroudsburg University. You will work with invertebrates, fish, amphibians, reptiles, and rodents. This is a paid, on-site, full-time role with rolling start dates.
What you'll do#
- Administer care to various animals and ensure they receive proper nutrition.
- Complete web-based training modules on animal care.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures for housing and handling.
- Conduct daily check-ins of animal care facilities.
- Maintain facility cleanliness according to USDA guidelines.
- Operate the cage washer.
- Update animal care records and report on animal health status.
- Assist the IACUC veterinarian with treatment protocols for sick or injured animals.
What you'll need#
- Must be a current student at East Stroudsburg University.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- English literacy skills.
- Ability to pass a background check, including FBI fingerprinting and PA Child Abuse clearance.
