About the role#
The Computing and Communication Services department is hiring a student worker to assist with daily technical and administrative operations. This position provides hands-on experience in IT support, troubleshooting, and departmental projects across campus.
What you'll do#
- Assist with basic coding and programming tasks.
- Support network activities like device setup and troubleshooting.
- Provide audiovisual technology support for classrooms, meetings, and events.
- Install, maintain, and configure computer hardware and software.
- Help IT staff with ongoing technical projects.
- Handle administrative duties including filing, mail distribution, and running errands.
- Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach during support interactions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an ESU student, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of programming concepts, networking, or computer systems.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn new systems and technologies.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull light equipment across campus.
