About the role#
The Project Controls Specialist I is an entry-level position focused on supporting project control assignments. You will work under close supervision to perform specific, limited tasks using prescribed methods and tools. This role offers exposure to core project controls functions, including estimating, scheduling, project change management, and cost control for training purposes. This is a full-time, paid internship for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Handle aspects of project control assignments within your assigned business unit.
- Perform specific and limited portions of project control work using established tools and methods.
- Gain practical experience in estimating, scheduling, and cost control.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to support project objectives.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Understanding and application of basic project controls principles.
- Knowledge of project management or project controls concepts.
- Proficiency in MS Project and skill in scheduling or financial management tools.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based sponsorship.

- Locations: Charlotte, NC or Terrell, NC.
- Modality: On-site.
- Travel: 5-15% travel may be required.
