About the role#
As an Electrical Design Intern, you will work on electrical drawings, specifications, and calculations throughout various project phases. You will operate under close supervision while learning industry standards, codes, and design practices. This role involves collaborating with engineers, modelers, and detailers to produce coordinated design documentation and support project delivery.
What you'll do#
- Produce electrical drawings, specifications, and calculations under supervision.
- Develop basic electrical layouts and documentation using fundamental concepts.
- Perform simple electrical calculations, drafting, and model updates.
- Support construction administration activities, including shop drawing reviews and RFI support.
- Create 2D drawings and assist with 3D electrical models using CAD tools.
- Collaborate with the project team to support coordinated delivery.
- Participate in learning opportunities to build your understanding of design standards and workflows.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for electrical engineering, architectural engineering, or a related field.
- Intent to obtain Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is preferred.
