About the role#
This internship offers Ph.D. students the opportunity to work on digital innovation projects across Dow. You will join cross-functional teams to solve open-ended problems that accelerate the digital evolution of the materials industry. Projects vary by team and focus, spanning areas such as R&D, supply chain, manufacturing, and sustainability.
What you'll do#
- Solve complex problems to improve how scientists predict formulation properties.
- Increase efficiency across manufacturing and supply chain processes.
- Modernize R&D software platforms.
- Conduct fundamental and applied research to address chemical, material, and industrial challenges.
- Perform advanced planning and scheduling optimization.
- Collaborate with domain experts to deliver high-priority projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a Ph.D. program in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Minimum GPA of 3.00 on a 4.000 scale in your current graduate program.
- Ability to comply with federally mandated U.S. export control laws.
- Potential requirement to obtain or possess a TWIC card depending on the specific location.

- This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling term.
- Work modalities include remote, on-site, and hybrid options.
- Locations include Midland, MI; Wilmington, DE; Carrollton, KY; Houston, TX; Plaquemine, LA; Auburn, MI; Freeport, TX; Collegeville, PA; and South Charleston, WV.
