About the role#
Dot Transportation, Inc. (DTI) is offering a summer internship for students interested in the transportation and logistics field. This role is based on-site in Mt. Sterling, Illinois. You will work within our Traffic, Safety, and Dispatch departments to gain hands-on experience with our workflows and business processes. This is a paid, full-time position for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Complete at least one assigned project for review and potential implementation.
- Participate in job-shadowing and training to learn how our departments interact.
- Define problems, conduct research, collect data, and perform analysis.
- Update, review, and track various internal reports.
- Apply lean tools to identify and remove waste in your daily tasks.
- Present your project findings and recommendations at the end of the internship.
- Attend required intern training events and participate in team projects.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment as a full-time student at a local, accredited college or university.
- A minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Coursework toward a degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or Mathematics.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to work at least 350 hours during the summer.
- A commitment to workplace safety for yourself and your team.
