    About the role#

    The Instructional Designer Intern develops training curriculum and materials for specific functional areas. You will create and deliver educational content to support employee development. This role focuses on using instructional design models to produce measurable results and foster a productive learning environment.

    What you'll do#

    • Create immersive educational experiences for DigiKey audiences.
    • Apply core instructional design principles and theories to maximize learning.
    • Plan, organize, and develop training curricula and programs for in-person, virtual, and eLearning formats.
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts, vendors, and internal stakeholders on curriculum design.
    • Plan and coordinate skills assessments and training sessions.
    • Assess and update learning objectives, while developing metrics to evaluate training effectiveness.
    • Research and implement new technologies for classroom and virtual instruction.

    What you'll need#

    • Current status as a rising Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in instructional design, learning experience design, educational technology, educational psychology, or a related field.
    • In-depth understanding of instructional design models and adult learning theories.
    • Strong project management skills and the ability to navigate complex problems with professionalism.
    • Concrete verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams and Outlook.
    • Experience with learning management systems, preferably Workday, and course development software, preferably Articulate.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while taking initiative.

    Location & details#

    • This is a full-time, paid internship located at the corporate headquarters in Thief River Falls, Minnesota.
    • The role requires regular on-site attendance, with a hybrid or on-site work modality.
    • Local housing is provided for interns.
    • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for immigration sponsorship.
