About the role#
The Marketing Communications Intern will gain hands-on experience by working with our team to support brand awareness and stakeholder engagement. This role is for a student interested in nonprofit communications. You will help execute strategies across multiple platforms.
What you'll do#
- Create content for social media, websites, blogs, email marketing, and presentations.
- Manage social media accounts by scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, and researching trends.
- Conduct research on industry trends and customer behavior to help inform our marketing approach.
- Support email campaigns through list segmentation and performance tracking.
- Assist with media outreach, drafting press releases, and coordinating events.
- Provide administrative support including scheduling meetings, organizing materials, and managing databases.
- Track and analyze marketing campaign performance to provide insights.
- Draft content for employee newsletters or the company intranet.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
- A proactive, self-motivated attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Creativity and attention to detail.
Location & details#
- Location: Smithtown, New York.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Commitment: 8 hours per week for 16 weeks.
- Compensation: $20 per hour.
- Employment type: Part-time.
