About the role#
As a Financial Planning Intern, you will work directly with Certified Financial Planners to support the full planning process. This role involves assisting from the initial client engagement through the final implementation of financial plans. You will work twenty hours per week for a period of six months, with a schedule that remains flexible to accommodate your school commitments.
What you'll do#
- Process client data and input it into financial planning software.
- Communicate with clients over the phone to provide service, clarify information, and schedule appointments.
- Interpret financial analyses to develop strategies and recommendations.
- Participate in staff and training meetings as a full member of the team.
- Observe client meetings to gain practical insight into the industry.
- Meet with certified financial planners for regular mentoring and career counseling.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an undergraduate financial planning degree program or a related field (juniors and seniors are preferred).
- Familiarity with financial planning concepts, vocabulary, and financial calculators.
- Experience with financial planning software or client relationship management software.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to think critically and apply information to real-world scenarios.
- A proactive approach to work, a willingness to ask questions, and a desire to learn.
- A proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.

- This position is located at 150 Social Hall Avenue, Salt Lake City, UT.
- This is an on-site, part-time, paid internship.
- Hiring is conducted on a rolling basis.
