This position focuses on increasing parental involvement, engagement, and communication within the school. The liaison encourages active participation from parents in classrooms, grade-level activities, and school-wide events to ensure every learner thrives.
What you'll do#
- Organize parent involvement activities, workshops, and classes, providing resources in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with school leadership to manage the relationship between the school and the parent community, including providing training for staff on engagement strategies.
- Coordinate existing programs and assist parents in developing academic home learning strategies for their children.
- Develop parent involvement policies, plans, and school-parent compacts in accordance with best practices.
- Organize and supervise before and after-school programs.
- Research and create support tools, such as parent guides, and assess outreach efforts for continuous improvement.
- Conduct home visits and monitor student attendance issues.
- Facilitate regular parent meetings and attend school events to foster strong family relationships.
- Serve as a mediator to resolve parent concerns and assist families new to the community with integration and enrollment.
What you'll need#
- Associate's Degree or two years of college (Bachelor's Degree preferred).
- Three or more years of experience in community development and family advocacy.
- Knowledge of school-based programs supporting students and families in an urban, K-12 environment.
- Demonstrated effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural environment.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace.
- Strong time management, organizational, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Bilingual skills in Spanish are preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle multiple demands.
- Must live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado.

- Location: Denver, Colorado.
- Term: Summer 2026.
- Modality: On-site, full-time.
- Compensation: $49,206 – $59,046 annually, including health and wellness benefits and PERA retirement.
