About the role#
The DNC Legal team provides advice on legal topics relevant to a national party committee. This includes election and campaign finance matters, voting rights litigation, contract negotiation, employment issues, and privacy law. This internship offers hands-on experience for those interested in the political process.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research and fact-finding on various topics.
- Draft documents including emails, legal memoranda, training materials, and presentations.
- Work with the Legal team to develop internal policies and processes.
- Attend internal and external meetings.
- Support contract workflows through research, template development, and initial review.
- Perform administrative duties as assigned.
- Attend mandatory onboarding and offboarding sessions.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years old by the start of the program.
- You must be physically present in the United States.
- You must commit to at least 20 hours per week.
- You must meet one of the following academic criteria:
- Currently enrolled in a JD or LLM program at an ABA certified, U.S.-based institution.
- Graduated with a JD or LLM from an ABA certified, U.S.-based institution within the last two years.
- Graduated with a JD or LLM from an ABA certified, U.S.-based institution and are currently enrolled in a non-legal graduate program.

- Location: Washington, District of Columbia.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January 11, 2027 to March 19, 2027).
- Modality: On-site, hybrid, or remote.
- Compensation: This position includes a $3,700 stipend.
