About the role#
This eight-week internship offers an introduction to the aviation industry and airport project lifecycles. You will participate in classroom training, hands-on learning, and site visits while working with project teams. The program runs from late May through early August 2027.
What you'll do#
- Review project plans, create exhibits, and prepare construction estimates.
- Visit active construction sites and participate in construction administration.
- Assist with project closeout tasks.
- Bridge the gap between engineering concepts and business solutions.
- Engage in mentorship and professional development activities.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program.
- Interest in civil site design, land development, and consulting engineering.
- A genuine interest in airports and aviation.
- Ability to obtain a security badge and complete airfield safety and driver training if required for site visits.

- Location: Richmond, Virginia.
- Modality: On-site.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Compensation: Paid hourly rate of $23.00. Lodging is provided in the Richmond area for the duration of the program. A travel or lodging reimbursement of up to $500 is provided for the scheduled program break.
