Test Automation Developer - Fall 2026 Co-op/Intern

About the role#

Definity is seeking a technical student for a 4-month Fall 2026 co-op placement within the Quality Engineering team. This role focuses on the validation and verification of software systems and data in an Agile environment. You will work on initiatives that span the business to implement common QA, DevOps, and development goals.

What you'll do#

• Maintain an automation-first mentality throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Leverage AI across all phases of the SDLC.
• Design and script automated tests for web and mobile applications.
• Perform analysis and reporting of testing results.
• Conduct testing related to data seeding, data masking, and data analysis.
• Collaborate within an Agile team to improve QE capabilities and maintain high quality standards.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a Computer Science or related program.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Experience with Large Language Models (LLM), Machine Learning (ML), and Generative AI (GenAI).
• Proficiency in working with JSON and XML data formats.
• Hands-on skills with SQL for data querying.
• Experience with mobile browser and mobile app (Android, iOS) testing and automation is an asset.
• Experience consuming REST or SOAP APIs is an asset.
• Familiarity with test automation frameworks or test harnesses is an asset.
• Ability to successfully clear a background check, including criminal checks and leadership references.

• Compensation: Starts at $22.50 per hour, with potential for increase based on skills, education, and experience.
