About the role#
Deaconess Health System is hiring a Respiratory Student to support our clinical team in Marion, Illinois. This position offers hands-on experience in a hospital setting and is designed for students currently enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program. The role is part-time with rolling start dates.
What you'll do#
- Assist the Respiratory Therapy team with daily patient care under supervision.
- Observe and participate in the administration of respiratory treatments and therapies.
- Learn to operate and maintain respiratory equipment.
- Monitor the respiratory status of patients and report any changes to the supervising staff.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain patient confidentiality.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- A strong interest in patient care and respiratory health.
- Ability to follow directions and work well within a team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- CPR certification is preferred.

- Hourly pay starts at $18. Shift incentives are available for evening, night, and weekend work. Performance-based bonuses and a sign-on bonus upon passing boards are also available.
