About the role#
DCCM is hiring a Travel Demand Modeling Intern for our Traffic and Planning team in Austin. This is a paid, full-time internship that offers hands-on experience with regional transportation projects. You will work alongside professionals in planning, engineering, and data analysis to help solve real-world mobility challenges.
What you'll do#
- Build, calibrate, test, and document inputs for travel demand models.
- Analyze socioeconomic data and household travel surveys under supervision.
- Assist the team with model validation to ensure accuracy.
- Help prepare reports and presentations for various transportation projects.
- Collaborate with staff across multiple technical disciplines.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor program for Civil Engineering or a master program for Transportation Engineering.
- Coursework in Urban Transportation Planning, Transportation Systems, or similar methodology classes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with transportation modeling concepts and data analysis tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with GIS or transportation modeling software is a plus.
