About the role#
Dana Incorporated is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer Co-Op to work at our facility in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This role provides an opportunity to build technical skills by working with engineers and material planners on departmental tasks and projects. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
You will support various aspects of our manufacturing operations through the following responsibilities:
- Create quality documentation and maintain manufacturing records.
- Conduct quality audits and investigations while inspecting products to ensure specifications are met.
- Collaborate with corporate gear engineering to improve gearset manufacturability and process capability.
- Assist with plant and department layouts along with pre-production product development.
- Support continuous improvement projects for process design and efficiency.
- Develop and update process sheets, PFMEA documentation, and Control Plans.
- Integrate sensors and vision systems into existing processes.
- Troubleshoot and recover from line stoppages and lead teams to prevent future downtime.
- Monitor inventory levels, analyze material requirements, and resolve scheduling conflicts.
- Perform root cause analysis for inventory discrepancies and support cycle counts.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program for Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Proven work experience.
- Strong analytical ability and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work in a team environment and interface across departments.
- Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
- A self-directed, motivated approach to assignments.
- Willingness to complete multiple assignments.
