About the role#
This internship supports the Global Regulatory Operations team in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. You will design and implement automation and artificial intelligence solutions to improve efficiency and quality within regulatory submission processes. This role offers hands-on experience applying data science and software development skills in a pharmaceutical environment. The position runs from June 2027 through May 2028. You will work approximately 37.5 hours per week during the summer and 20 hours per week for the remainder of the term.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and test automation solutions to streamline regulatory processes.
- Build tools and applications using modern AI and machine learning technologies.
- Develop scripts, workflows, and dashboards to improve data quality and operational efficiency.
- Analyze business processes to identify opportunities for optimization.
- Support the maintenance of robotic process automation, generative AI, and other intelligent solutions.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Create technical documentation, user guides, and presentations for your projects.
- Participate in innovation initiatives, hackathons, and proof-of-concept projects.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that provide business value.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Machine Learning, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Basic programming experience in Python, JavaScript, C#, or similar languages.
- Familiarity with data analysis, databases, and software development principles.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Preferred: Experience with AI, machine learning, large language models, or generative AI.
- Preferred: Experience with automation platforms like Microsoft Power Platform, Power Automate, or UiPath.
- Preferred: Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS and data visualization tools like Power BI.
- Preferred: Coursework or experience related to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or regulatory environments.

- Compensation: Paid position with a salary range of $17.23 to $58.15 per hour.
