About the role#
Dahrouge Geological Consulting Ltd. is hiring a Geologist-in-Training I. This full-time, paid position is based on-site in Montreal, Quebec. You will work on a rolling basis, supporting various mining projects through both field and office tasks.
What you'll do#
- Identify and mitigate safety risks on-site while participating in daily safety meetings and documentation.
- Assist with project preparation, logistics, and surface prospecting.
- Conduct geochemical and geophysical surveys.
- Manage core processing tasks, including geological and geotechnical logging, sampling, photography, and density measurements.
- Contribute to geological mapping, data interpretation, and report writing.
- Ensure all collected data meets company standards.
- Support drilling activities and occasionally supervise junior staff, including geological interns and field assistants.
What you'll need#
- A degree in Geology or an equivalent qualification as defined by Geoscientifiques Canada.
- 0 to 2 years of professional experience.
- Current registration as a Geologist-in-Training with the OGQ, APEGA, or another recognized provincial association.
- Valid General First Aid and CPR Level C certification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and geological software such as ArcGIS, 3D modeling tools, and statistical applications.
- Knowledge of regional geological contexts and industry standards.
- Ability to work independently and contribute ideas to large-scale projects.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental protocols.

- This role is located in Montreal, Quebec.
- Work involves both office settings and field environments.
- Field work requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift up to 60 lbs, and the ability to adapt to extreme weather and challenging terrain.
